VIJAYAWADA: Amidst claps, cheers and booming music, the 42-year-old aerobic expert, Dinaz Vervatwala, overhauled her own Limca Books Record by extending it by four hours. She broke her 12-hour-long continuous aerobics feat by performing 16-hour non-stop, starting early Sunday at 3 a.m. at Siddhartha Arts and Science College grounds. She ended her 16-hour feat jiving to the tune of A.R. Rehman’s oscar winning tune “jayaho”

The wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik has been called up to the Indian squad as cover for openers Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir, who sustained injuries during the third one-dayer against Australia in New Delhi.

"Dinesh Karthik will be joining the Indian team in Mohali," N Srinivasan, the BCCI secretary, said in a statement. "Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir sustained injuries during the third match and a final decision on their availability for the fourth match, to be played at Mohali on November 2, will be taken on the morning of the game."




Nokia Siemens Netowork (NSN) today announced that it has been selected by Uninor the JV between Unitech Wireless and Norway’s Telenor to roll out a new GSM network in 6 telecom circles of India. Earlier the NSN also get a contract from Uninor to deploy GPRS network for all 22 telecom circles.

The 2G based 2.75 GSM network rollout contract includes Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh telecom circles. The contract requires NSN to operate and maintain the network under its managed services offerings

Australian fast bowler Brett Lee and all-rounder James Hopes have been ruled out of Saturday's One-Day International against India at the Feroz Shah Kotla.

Lee, who suffered an elbow injury in the opening ODI at Vadodara, missed the next match in Nagpur while Hopes too had to sit out of the second ODI with a hamstring injury.fhk

As per the new plan, the customers will be charged one paisa per second for all local and national long-distance calls within Bharti's network and 1.20 paise per second for calls to other networks, the company said in a statement.
